Corolla Fault Diagnosis Simulation
A custom simulation for the college’s Corolla ZRE151/152/153 fleet combines 19 open-circuit faults, scoring statistics and repair-manual retrieval.
Project Overview
One Vehicle Context for Virtual and Workshop Diagnosis.
Guangdong Mechanical & Electrical Polytechnic is a public higher vocational college in South China with vehicle inspection and maintenance programs. Its automotive faculty teaches practical diagnosis on a physical Corolla fleet already owned by the college.

Project Brief
The Teaching Brief and Its Constraints.
Requirement
The software had to mirror the ZRE151/152/153 vehicle platform used in the workshop. Learners needed comprehensive fault diagnosis and correction tasks, while instructors needed per-student results and access to the corresponding repair procedure within the software.
Constraints
The syllabus fixed the fault scope at 19 open-circuit wiring cases. Circuit behavior had to correspond to the physical teaching vehicles because learners alternated between software and workshop practice.
The software also had to run on the college’s existing computer-room PCs. The target hardware baseline was reviewed as part of delivery planning.
Challenge
A wiring break changes the readings available at related test points. Learners may choose different measurement paths, so the exercise must respond consistently to their permitted observations rather than only display a predetermined animation.
The team needed to connect each fault’s circuit logic with the repair information and the assessment record.
Our Approach
Modeling, Practice and Teaching Records.
Model the College’s Fault Tasks
The development team adapted the client/server 3D teaching platform to the Corolla wiring and implemented the 19 open circuits in the model. The documented platform standard specifies device precision below 1 cm, tool precision below 0.5 cm, at least 80 measurement points and 300 data items per training project.
Connect Diagnosis with Teaching Records
A score-statistics module records learner and fault-case results. A repair-manual module lets students retrieve the relevant procedure during diagnosis, connecting the exercise with workshop information use.
Result
A Shared Context for Software and Workshop Practice.
One custom simulation was delivered for the Corolla ZRE151/152/153 platform, with 19 circuit-based open-fault cases and the two score/manual modules. The project account identifies the measurement density against the company’s documented platform standard.
The college could use the same vehicle context across its virtual lesson and physical workshop, with a reviewable record of software task performance.
Project Record

Timeline
Work progressed from faculty requirement confirmation to Corolla circuit modeling, joint fault-logic testing, instructor acceptance and teaching use. Milestones followed the course calendar; the available account does not provide exact delivery dates.
Verification
Request the company’s custom-simulation cooperation-case record, the project scope and an online demonstration of the 19-fault software. The demonstration should include a fault investigation, the score-statistics view and repair-manual retrieval.
The modeling and measurement standard is documented in the simulation product materials. A new project should confirm the exact modeled systems, licensed tasks and acceptance criteria separately.
